Hey!
I wanted to share something exciting from the first Product Hunt launch I ever didāand how Iāve made the most out of it! š
Hereās the scoop: I had 5 new users join MyChatbots.AI from the launch. š„³
While thatās awesome, only 2 of them have paid... so far! š¤
Now, having built multiple 6-figure businesses over the years, I knew this was likely to happen. Iāve been through this with other launches outside of #buildinpublic.
Whatās interesting, though, is the sequence of events:
- They saw the pricing šø
- They clicked to CLAIM THE DEAL š±ļø
- They signed up and logged in ā
But... 3 of them still didnāt pay. š¬
So, whatās the plan now?
š The Solution: An Automated Follow-Up System
Iāve set up an email system that automatically moves users into one of three categories:
1. Signed up
2. Signed up AND paid
3. Signed up, paid, AND... canceled š
This way, no matter where they are in the funnel, they get the right messages at the right time.
If someone cancels, I reach out personally, letting them know Iāll miss them and ask why they left. Sometimes, all it takes is asking if thereās something I can do to bring them back. š
For those who did pay, I immediately send a welcome email, help them get set up, and make sure they know how to contact me if they need anything. š„
But hereās the kickerāif they sign up but donāt pay, I hit them with a series of persuasive emails. My first email welcomes them and urges them to choose a plan to unlock key features.
The next day, I send another friendly reminder:
āHey, something mustāve gone wrong! You didnāt activate your account by selecting a plan. Donāt miss out on X, Y, AND Z. Itād be a shame to stick with the old way when the new way is just a few clicks away!ā š
Whenever they decide to upgrade, my system shifts them from the sales sequence to the onboarding emails, ensuring a smooth transition to a paying customer.
š” Why This Works: Itās all about automationāmaking sure non-paying leads are nudged to buy, and paying customers are onboarded and happy with the product, all on autopilot.
I hope this strategy inspires you to implement something similar. Trust me, itāll boost your sales, increase customer satisfaction, and even win back canceled usersājust by asking why they left and how you can improve. š
Cheers,
Aron
